Investments in intralogistics: the expansion of Atim’s alluminium warehouse

After the expansion of our warehouse for Just in Time deliveries and the inauguration of the new PM Alluproget headquarters, we are now modernizing our aluminum rod warehouse.

The expansion operations involved the creation of 5 external hangars and the installation of a full-height storage structure in the internal warehouse. Changes that have allowed us to double the storage capacity of raw materials for our production: we can store up to 500 aluminum bundles, varying in length between 4 and 8 meters.

In addition, the loading and unloading operations have been speeded up by the arrival of a new forklift with side grip equipped with cameras on the picking floor. The new high-tech vehicle and the implementation of a new shelf coding system, which facilitates the location of the packages, are the first steps towards an automated system for the inventory of bars.

Greater efficiency in storage is the prospect for greater production efficiency: the revamp of the bar warehouse allows us to face the global difficulties in the supply of aluminum, which are still critical, and offer our customers more guarantees and speed in the delivery of their orders.
